Lovely Story and a lovely Read
Lovely Story and a lovely Read

I am going to try and keep this as spoiler free as I can so it may not make sense unless you have read the book. This was the 1st book By Cyanni I read I bought it the same time I purchased ‘A Single Quavering Note’ I fell in love with the world almost instantly the concepts of Gods, mages, paladins and Evil drew me right in. I was able to really feel for the characters situations and their emotions while reading the book. I have to say my favourite character would have to be Sven even though he’s not a main character in this book He was just soo instantly loveable. The other characters all have their moments that let you understand their personalities and all are really well detailed on how they behave as they do. The very beginning of the book gave a good sense of what was to come in the story and some of the issues that would confront the characters which is why I was soo drawn in because once I started reading I could not put the book down. There are many well I guess Gay moments in this book and while the adult parts enhance the story it also gives you a deeper understanding of the love between characters in the book. A lot of very cute scenes were in this book that made you fall in love with the characters. My only negative comment about the book is that some areas lacked detail to get fully drawn in. When the story shifted a little to the other city I felt a little disconnected from the world as it was not as detailed as the main city and not enough time was spent there to be fully drawn in. Overall This is a very good series make sure you get all 3 books at once because I got them separately as they were released and while I loved reading them over again as the new book was released I spent a year waiting for the next part of the story and it is a series that is good to read one after the other to get fully immersed in the world.

Yep I been through this book too and I kinda enjoyed it. The beginning really threw me off guard and I got a bit lost at first until after a few pages it started making sense hehe. Beginning of the first book was a little slow but once it starts kicking in and getting into it, it gets very hard to put the book down because it gets really packing and intriguing. The way he describes characters you can't help but want to know what they are going through, what is going to happen and all. Once you finished it you tend to want to jump on the second one.

The first chapter of this book really worried me, and I was afraid I’d made the wrong decision by picking up this book. You see, this book follows multiple characters and it switches between them multiple times per chapter. This is something I am pretty allergic to, and they switched so many times in the first chapter, that I became highly annoyed. However, being the die-hard that I am, I didn’t quit there and just kept on reading. It’s a good thing I did too, because the story gets gradually nicer the further you get into the book. Especially the parts with the Oracle were highly enjoyable. The “side story” that takes place around Torr was also a joy to read. I got really into the book as soon as those events took place. A thing I found was quite a shame, was that the relationships between the characters were already pretty much defined, especially the one between Vorel and Rasvim. I love seeing romantic relationships develop, which is why my favourite couple in the book couldn’t be any other than Mier and Acton. The ending of the book really got me excited for the sequel, as Halden promises to go on a treasure hunt in the next book, which is something I absolutely love. It’s a real shame I don’t have the sequels in my possession yet. This is only a matter of time, however. – Faolan

It is something that one can read for something to do. It is entertaining at parts but for the most part it is something that is not something that one reads in a steady sitting but take breaks and things. A three star for the length and at least well enough of a story to entertain oneself for a while.
