I've long been a fan of Agatha Christie's nosy busybody characters such as Poirot and Miss Marple. The Mysterious Affair of Giles brilliantly captures all the charm of those old-fashioned murder mysteries while still holding onto the sort of elements that fur-fans are more likely to expect. There's nothing extremely explicit in the book, but the couples within (straight and otherwise) are wonderfully charming and affectionate, and I really do hope to see further works in this setting!
