First, Science Friction does not contain any science fiction. There is "science" in the setting, and there is "friction" in both the literal physical sense and in the relationship issues sense. There is also a pine marten. I do not believe there are enough pine martens in furry literature. I'm glad that Vexy is stepping up to the plate. To get to the review, Science Friction is a quirky romp into student/professor relations, husband/wife relations, roommate relations, and a few other relations in between. While the story does take time to take a serious look at these relations, this is overshadowed by the absurd series of coincidence and hijinx. But I believe that is the point. Vexy keeps shoving his footpaw in his muzzle as he tried to figure out what the hell is going on, and proceeds to unwittingly Make Things Worse for himself every step of the way. Let's face it, secret relationships have a habit of biting you in the tail. Science Friction is light comedy of errors from point A to point B, with enough sauciness on the edges to keep things rolling. Fine writing, a nice cast of characters (d'aww, the fox prof is adorable), and there is a pine marten involved (oine marten...have you seen a pine marten...go to Google images this instant!). This is a fine Cupcake to sample one sitting with a cup of tea to wash it down. And one to prompt thoughts of sexy pine marten tails... *coughs*
